Needlemania

As much as I enjoy the holiday decorations and glitz there is a certain satisfaction of regaining order to the house when it is all packed away. Yesterday afternoon we packed up the decorations, tossed the tree out the door, and shoveled up the mountains of dropped needles. Even after vacuuming twice there are STILL needles stuck between the floorboards. Maybe 700 lights was a bit much for that tree. We did notice that the needles were still holding on where there were no lights. Hmmm.Today I have been tidying in the sewing room in an effort to get back to my sewing machine which I am sure has felt neglected for the last month.Oh, and of course I am still knitting. I started a hat!When I finish the hat I'll go back and knit the right mittens to match the completed lefts.Stranded colorwork seems to be the theme of the month.

This summer we watched my two oldest grand kids one day a week. Towards the end of the summer they started making projects on their own in the sewing room. They made lots of little projects from my scrap basket including pillow cases and tiny quilts
