Dorset Button Class

A few days ago I took a class in making Dorset Buttons with Catherine Redford. It was great fun and now I want to make all the buttons! Stay tuned, I’m sure there will be more of these in my future. This button was made on a 1 inch curtain ring with rayon thread.

This little beauty measures 2.5” and has 100 pieces! The binding measures 1/8”.

I used my 3” x 12” ruler to make the string pieces units for this quilt. The units are set together with narrower strips of a deep aqua solid. 

I used wool batting and finished it with minimal stitch in the ditch quilting.
