Licorice Allsorts in Black and White

Lynn Harris
March 8, 2021
Licorice Allsorts black and white.jpg

I’ve been making black and white versions of the blocks I am teaching in my Licorice Allsorts class. They are all variations on a theme. I’m having a great time trying out different layout options. This piece has a completely different feel to it than the colorful first version I made.

If you are interested in learning how to make these blocks, there are still some spots in my class next week.

Thanks go to @rjbosscher for the bits of neon bright fabric to try. This super bright neon fabric is very difficult to photograph and look true to color - trust me it’s bright! 😎 ☀️

String portions were made to the size of my isosceles triangle ruler. Two of those were sewn together to made the diamonds. As usual, the string blocks were started and mostly made at a quilt retreat.

Finished size 64” by 87”.

Not all my quilts are tiny.

Another quilt in my never ending mission to use what I have. String pieced diamonds and a variety of teal solids.

Finished size 64” by 87”.
