Thoughtful Sunday

"One morning the whole world was delicately silvered. Every blade of grass was silvery and the path had a thin sheen. It was hot like fire under Laura’s bare feet, and they left dark footprints in it. The air was cold in her nose and her breath steamed. So did Spot’s. When the sun came up, the whole prairie sparkled. Millions of tiny, tiny, sparks of color blazed on the grasses."On the Banks of Plum Creek, Laura Ingalls Wilder, 1937.

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.”

Winnie the Pooh, A. A. Milne, 1926.

Thoughtful Sunday - Tickled Pink

"Thetable was decorated with pink tulips, a pink tablecloth, pink candles, pink napkins, and pink nut dishes.  The main course was a maraschinocherry, walnut, marshmallow, pineapple, strawberry, cream cheese andcabbage molded salad, accompanied by pink biscuits. There were alsopink mints and pink gumdrops. And luckiest of all, Mrs Harroway justhappened to be dressed entirely in pink with even pink gloves and pinkroses in her hat."Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's Farm, Betty MacDonald, 1954.
