Wordless Wednesday
A Frosty Morning
We had a beautiful frosty morning yesterday.
I dashed out after the sun came up to get some photos of the frost on the chicken barn fence. It was very cold but I bundled up.

(Photo taken at sunrise on Wind Rock - near Blacksburg, Virginia)
“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”
Big Spool
This time I ordered a BIG spool. My thread order arrived. I'm off to finish quilting a quilt.
Outside
Since it's not so bitter cold this winter I'm trying to get out more. This weekend we walked up to the park and saw a rafter of turkeys. (Did you know that was the collective name for a group of turkeys?)
It was really snowy while we were out. My glasses were covered and I had to take them off and put them in my pocket for the walk home. It was blizzardy - but just while we were walking home.
Today it was warmish and sunny. The fresh air felt good.
I would probably get more exercise if I left my camera at home but taking the camera along makes it more fun!
Also, it has been so warm lately that I've started pondering what new things I want to plant in the garden this year. My neighbor had some really good cucumbers last year that I'd like to try.
Misty Morning
Yesterday a friend and I went on a misty morning photo walk in the cemetery.

“If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. i'll always be with you.”
Winnie the Pooh, A. A. Milne, 1926.
Gratitude
I am grateful for...a summer day that is actually cool enough for an evening fire,
an almost finished playhouse,
someone who shares my interest in photography,
travel plans,
zinnias - cut and arranged in vases by Miss P,
summer evenings at the lake,
newly installed ceiling fans,
and freshly picked blueberries
.What are you grateful for today?
Wordless Wednesday
Kapow!
We are having another rainy day.
Crafturday
We had more snow. I went out long enough to take a few pictures and spent the day in the sewing room.
It was a real Crafturday. Four people sewing!! D worked on some button fly jeans from the thrift store; he removed the buttons and inserted a zipper. His girlfriend finished making a skirt. P worked on her valentines and I did some custom quilting.
It is a good thing I have multiple machines!
The Spool Queen
A cold has been making its rounds through the house this week.
Sometimes I feel like I'm in a fog.
I did manage to get a tiny bit of sewing done though.
How'd That Happen?
Time sure flies. It is hard for me to believe that M will be a senior in high school this year. We had a little senior portrait photo session this week. I think they turned out pretty good but I think I could do better. He had is wisdom teeth out yesterday so I'll have to wait a while to try again.
But really, how did this little squirt on the left
turn into this so fast?
