The Splendid Sampler - Wings

Have you started the Splendid Sampler sew along, a year long sew along organized by Pat Sloane and Jane Davidson yet?I have finished the second block, Wings, designed by Jane Davidson.I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to add the embroidery detail. A Day at the Fair

I love fair week!I like the community effort that goes into making it happen.I like looking at all of the entries and knowing so many of the people who made and grew things to enter.I enjoy the festive colors.I enjoy the animals and knowing many of the kids who raised them.I like the variety of sights and activities.I enjoy seeing people I have not seen during the summer.I enjoy the activity that brings so many people together to support their community.I love the fair but I am glad it is only one week in the year!

This summer we watched my two oldest grand kids one day a week. Towards the end of the summer they started making projects on their own in the sewing room. They made lots of little projects from my scrap basket including pillow cases and tiny quilts
Here’s the layout with all but one block done. I’ll finish that last block when I get more of the baby poop green/mustard fabric. I put out the call and the internet provided! This top will be finished soon! This is a remake of an 1870s
I’m finally getting around to putting these stars together. I made the stars a few years ago and have been on the hunt for the perfect setting fabrics. These @carolynfriedlander prints are the perfect match for the 1800s reproduction prints in
